Job Description:

Job Summary

The Procurement Officer is responsible for executing procurement activities in support of construction projects by sourcing materials, processing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring compliance with procurement procedures. The role ensures timely acquisition of quality goods and services at competitive prices while maintaining accurate documentation and supplier coordination.


Key Responsibilities


1. Procurement Operations

  • Process approved purchase requisitions in accordance with company procurement policy.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Prepare and issue Local Purchase Orders (LPOs).
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery terms within delegated authority.
  • Track pending orders and ensure timely delivery to project sites.


2. Supplier & Quality Management

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials meet required specifications.
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders and prepare Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
  • Support supplier performance monitoring and maintain updated supplier records.


3. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal controls and budget limits.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records including quotations, LPOs, invoices, and contracts.
  • Ensure proper filing and audit-ready documentation.


4. Reporting

  • Prepare periodic procurement reports as required by management.
  • Update procurement tracking systems (including Tally) to ensure accurate data capture.



Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 2–5 years experience in procurement, preferably in construction
  • Working knowledge of Tally system
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Good analytical and reporting skills
  • High integrity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
